Report: Colts Release DE Kevin Eagan after he leaves team

According to Aaron Wilson, the Indianapolis Colts have released defensive end Kevin Eagan after he reportedly left the team and is quitting football altogether.

The 6-4, 276 pound undrafted free agent out of Endicott notched 104 tackles , 23 of them for loss while also recording 8.5 sacks his senior season, as well as forcing and recovering three fumbles and intercepting three passes.

Eagan would very likely not have made the 53-man roster, or the practice squad at that.  It is a strange situation and we do not know all the details yet, but it seems as if he is done with football.

The release (which is not official yet, by the way) does open up a roster spot.  I would be in favor of adding a veteran cornerback.
