Report: Colts Attempting to Trade for Mike Jenkins

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Indianapolis Colts are trying to trade for Dallas Cowboys’ cornerback Mike Jenkins.  Jenkins (5-10, 190 pounds) was a first round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Cowboys at number 25 overall.  He made the Pro Bowl in 2009.

If the Colts aquired Jenkins, it would help their secondary greatly.  That does not mean that it would be “good”, but it would be improved.  That is about all we can ask for at this moment.

However, the snag is that Dallas reportedly wants a first rounder or they will not trade him.  According to Dan Graham (@coltsinsider on twitter), the Colts originally offered a 3rd and 4th round pick for Jenkins, to which the Cowboys said no.  Graham reports that the Colts’ current offer is a 2nd round pick.  I think a 1st round pick is definetly too high, especially since the Colts figure to be in the upper half of the draft again next year.
