The Decision: Looking at the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Chances of Landing Peyton Manning

The Decision: Looking at where Peyton Manning may end up if he becomes a free agent… today, we look at the:

The Jaguars have been dominated by the Colts in the past.  This year, they were the only AFC South team to sweep the Colts.  The Jaguars were 5-11, with 2 of those wins coming against the Colts.

They have the defending rushing champion, Maurice Jones-Drew, and they have a very good tight end in Marcedes Lewis.  They drafted Blaine Gabbert in the early first round last year, but Gabbert did not have a stellar rookie year by any means.  That said, it is too early to give up on him.  The Jaguars defense is not great, and they have a new coach in Mike Mularkey, Atlanta’s former offensive coordinator.  I do not know whether he would let Peyton Manning run his offense.

The Jaguars would love to get some revenge on the Colts, and getting the greatest Colt of all time would be a great way to do that.

But, as I have said, I do not think Peyton is driven by revenge.  Unless the departure is very ugly, I do not think he would purposefully go to the AFC South just for revenge, especially the Jaguars.  They are not a very good team, and while Peyton could get them to the playoffs, a super bowl is questionable.

If Peyton Manning will be playing in the AFC South next year, it very likely will not be for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Chances of landing Manning:                      4/10

Chances of playoffs with healthy Manning:                       90%

Chances of winning super bowl with healthy Manning:   50%

Well Mannings home is about an 8 hours drive from Jax.Jacksonville is also refered to as the bold new city of the south.I feel Manning would want to retire in a Southern Town considering his roots with the Vols.Like i said it all makes sense. However i don’t think it’s going to happen but it looks good on paper to say the least.

    (1) Manning will return but not as a Colt (2) Manning will want to win another Superbowl not a Team rebuilder (3) Manning can’t play in cold weather for long or practice in it for long ask anyone after having neck surgery (4) Jags defense is in the top five (5) manning already had a good running back in MJD (6) Jags are turn key all they need is a good reciver like reggie wayne (7) Manning would like to play his old team and beat Andrew Luck a few time and show him who is the greatest anybody would in Mannings shoes (8) The new Jags owner said he is going to make the Jags a Super Bowl winner he is one of the richest owners in the NFL (9) Jags have the worst fanbase in the entire NFL because of this their has been talk of the JAGS moving (10) The Jags missed out on Tim Tebow because of this alot of fans were discourged (11) Peyton Manning could make up for this and bring lots of people to the Jags and fill up the seats especially the ones with tarp over them (12) The Jags are way under cap they could get away with getting Manning (13) Manning could stay in the same division as Brady if he went to the Jags (14) Jacksonville is not too far from Tenn Mannings home it’s only 5.5 hours to Atlanta from Jacksonville and Tenn is right around the corner.(15) Are you seeing my points all of them make sense.
