The Decision: Looking at the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Chances of Landing Peyton Manning

The Decision: Looking at where Peyton Manning may end up if he becomes a free agent… today, we look at the:
The Jaguars have been dominated by the Colts in the past. This year, they were the only AFC South team to sweep the Colts. The Jaguars were 5-11, with 2 of those wins coming against the Colts.
They have the defending rushing champion, Maurice Jones-Drew, and they have a very good tight end in Marcedes Lewis. They drafted Blaine Gabbert in the early first round last year, but Gabbert did not have a stellar rookie year by any means. That said, it is too early to give up on him. The Jaguars defense is not great, and they have a new coach in Mike Mularkey, Atlanta’s former offensive coordinator. I do not know whether he would let Peyton Manning run his offense.
The Jaguars would love to get some revenge on the Colts, and getting the greatest Colt of all time would be a great way to do that.
But, as I have said, I do not think Peyton is driven by revenge. Unless the departure is very ugly, I do not think he would purposefully go to the AFC South just for revenge, especially the Jaguars. They are not a very good team, and while Peyton could get them to the playoffs, a super bowl is questionable.
If Peyton Manning will be playing in the AFC South next year, it very likely will not be for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Chances of landing Manning: 4/10
Chances of playoffs with healthy Manning: 90%
Chances of winning super bowl with healthy Manning: 50%
